(I also accepted Washington DC — this turned out to be a horrible question because lots of cities have MetroCards. I did a bit of reverse-Wiki-ing when I wrote the question, which didn’t turn up DC, but I should’ve realized it was wayyyyy to good to be true. I think I assumed that “MetroCard” was a trademark, so if NYC used it no one else was, but that wasn’t the case. In sum: BAD QUESTION.)
