A whole bunch of very good questions I’ll try not to repeat on my 2008-in-review quiz next Tuesday*.
Ben Schott, you’ve done it again.
*January 6 at the Old Pequliar in Seattle. If you’re in town, come!

Process of elimination helped me out on this one. (No pun intended, Tycho Brahe.)

As I was going along, I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to make 50%. So 75% was a pleasant surprise.
Don’t Believe the Hyphenation Score: 75% (9 out of 12)

Step 1: Identify the building. (First maybe you want to turn off the sound, I guess.)
Step 2: Guess where it is on the map.

My internet pal (and Jeopardy! contestant) Adam Villani has a clever pop music quiz up at his blog.
Premise: identify a musical artist, given the artist’s number of #1 hits, total number of weeks at #1, year of their first #1 hit, and the year of their most recent #1 hit.
I haven’t worked through the whole list, though I think I’ve got 1-3 down.

Another stellar Mental Floss quiz:
The Essential, Greatest, and Very Best Super Top Hits History CollectionScore: 80% (12 out of 15)
Average score was 73%, so I squeaked out an above-average performance.

Can you name the 10 highest grossing films in America that were not part of a franchise (no sequels, no prequels, no sidequels)? You’ve got five minutes.
I got three in the first few minutes … then was inspired to get three more before running out of time.
I tried five different spellings for Shrek before remembering that yes, there were sequels.

David Israel’s “Who Am I?” quiz on Mental Floss asks you to identify 10 books based on 10 clues written in the first person.
I scored 70%, though I think I’ve only read 35%. Thank you, general knowledge!
One peeve (with spoilers):
