“The Enemy Within,” Rush
“I Love L.A.,” Randy Newman
“It’s Four in the Morning,” Faron Young “Money for Nothing,” Dire Straits “Somewhere I Belong,” Linkin Park “The Star-Spangled Banner,” Marvin Gaye “Where It’s At,” Beck
I thought long and hard about this question. The one that really threw me off was the Marvin Gaye verison of the national anthem. I am not familiar with the Faron Young song.
Is it that each of them have an intro by a synthesizer?

That’s an excellent guess, but that’s not it.
Bonus HINT, since this one’s been sitting around for a while: Another song that qualifies for the list is The Buggles’ “Video Killed the Radio Star.”
They are all fucking awesome.
